Last Saturday the Chicago Blackhawks obtained a 3-2 lead in the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals series winning 7-4 in a match in which they faced the Philadelphia Flyers. The Blackhawks are one game away from winning their first championship in 49 year and they seem to have found the formula to win the Stanley Cup this year.
It seems that home is one of the secrets for winning in this edition of the Cup, with all five matches played to date won by the team skating at home. The Philadelphia Flyers were down 2-0 before they went home and obtained a pair of wins with a great performance by Michael Leighton.
Next Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. the Flyers will return home for Game 6 and since the home team has triumphed in all games up until now, Philadelphia fans have good reasons to expect a victory. If a Game 7 was necessary, action would return to the United Center. Meanwhile, Philadelphia coach Peter Laviolette has to find a way to get the best out of Jeff Carter who missed over a month of action due to a broken foot.
The Philadelphia Flyers made it to the playoffs in number seven of an eight team ranking in the Eastern Conference. The team defeated the Montreal Canadians in five games and entered the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 1997. Playing against the Boston Bruins during the second round, they made history by becoming the first team in 35 years to go from a 3-0 deficit to win the playoffs.
